PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) is gearing up to enhance agricultural production in South Sulawesi, ensuring an ample supply of fertilizers for the 2024 planting season. In collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan), the company is actively increasing distribution, maintaining fertilizer availability, and encouraging early purchases by farmers.

To expedite the process, Pupuk Indonesia is facilitating the distribution of subsidized fertilizers and making it easier for farmers to purchase non-subsidized ones through the Fertilizer Bazaar program. This initiative, part of the Ministry of Agriculture's Agricultural Extension and Farmer Coaching program, engaged around 50,000 farmers and agricultural extension officers.

Tri Wahyudi Saleh, Director of Marketing at Pupuk Indonesia, emphasized the company's commitment to supporting the government's mandate and enhancing farmer prosperity. Through initiatives like the Fertilizer Bazaar, Pupuk Indonesia aims to not only provide easy access to fertilizers but also offer favorable pricing, contributing to national food security.

Pupuk Indonesia is embracing innovation and digital technology in fertilizer distribution management. The Distribution Planning and Control System (DPCS) and Retail Management System (RMS) ensure transparency and efficiency. The company's 42 third-tier warehouses, involving 53 distributors and 1,101 official kiosk networks, support fertilizer distribution. Collaboration with stakeholders is vital for the smooth distribution of subsidized fertilizers.

As of December 2023, 535,597 tons of subsidized fertilizers were distributed in South Sulawesi, contributing to the national total of 6.18 million tons. Pupuk Indonesia produced 18.71 million tons, including Urea, NPK, and other fertilizers. Beyond subsidized fertilizers, the MAKMUR program aims to create a self-sustaining agricultural ecosystem using non-subsidized fertilizers, empowering farmers through mentoring, capital access, risk protection, and market guarantees.

Pupuk Indonesia is also running the Gebyar Diskon Pupuk program in 30 cities nationwide, aiming to provide farmers with affordable fertilizer access. Director Tri emphasized the company's commitment to creating a positive impact on farmers and local communities.

Notable attendees at the event included Minister of Agriculture Mr. Amran Sulaiman, Director of Marketing at Pupuk Indonesia Tri Wahyudi Saleh, Acting Governor of South Sulawesi Bahtiar Baharuddin, Acting Regent of Bone Andi Islamuddin, Regent of Soppeng Andi Kaswadi Razak, and Acting Regent of Sinjai TR Fahsul Falah. Pupuk Indonesia's proactive measures align with its dedication to supporting farmers and ensuring agricultural prosperity in South Sulawesi and nationwide.
