Last week, Artemis had the cool gig of helping BCA spill the beans on a pretty epic showdown among students in Indonesia. Brace yourselves, because the BCA Business Case Competition 2023: Be an Enthusiastic Marketer has officially wrapped up, and we've got some awesome highlights for you.
So, who brought home the bacon? The champs of the competition were none other than the PAU PETROL crew, a talented bunch hailing from the University of Indonesia, Bandung Institute of Technology, and Parahyangan Catholic University. These rockstars snagged the coveted first-place title. Kudos to them! Oh, and let's not forget about the Most Valuable Participants—two superstars from Udayana University and the University of Indonesia.
Now, here's the juicy part—the winners didn't just get bragging rights. Nope! They pocketed a sweet IDR 50 million and scored themselves internship and career opportunities at BCA. Not too shabby, right?
This competition was no small beans, my friends. It kicked off on August 21st and ran through September 1st, attracting more than 2,250 students from all over Indonesia. From that massive pool, 60 students made the cut for the elimination rounds. And guess what? Only the cream of the crop, 30 of 'em, made it to the nail-biting semi finals held at the BCA Learning Institute in Sentul, Bogor.
What went down in the semifinals? Well, the students had to strut their stuff in role-play and presentations to battle their way into the top 3. Sounds intense, right? But wait, it gets cooler. The judging panel consisted of big shots from BCA, including Fely Hadinata, the Head of BCA Regional Office I, Norisa Saifuddin, SVP Marketing Communication at BCA, and Irwan Prabawa, SVP Cash Management at BCA. Talk about impressing the bosses!
Lianawaty Suwono, the Director of BCA, couldn't help but gush about the competition's success, saying, "BCA congratulates all the winners and participants of the BCA Business Case Competition 2023." She added, "We hope that all participants take home not only cash prizes but also a truckload of experience and knowledge they can use in their studies and future careers."
During the competition, these budding marketing hotshots got schooled in marketing magic and negotiation tricks, all handy skills for their future adventures in the working world.
Rudi Lim, EVP Human Capital at BCA, had some encouraging words too: "Seeing how hyped up Indonesian students were for this competition's debut year, we're hoping BCA will keep this event rolling annually. We also hope it ignites a fire in Indonesian students to pursue their banking dreams."
This epic showdown, the BCA Business Case Competition 2023: Be Enthusiastic Marketer!, started off with registrations in mid-July. Then came the online and offline elimination rounds, followed by the grand finale throughout August. BCA's mission? To show mad love for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by helping these students grab top-notch education. Plus, they're grooming the next-gen banking whizzes. It's a win-win!
