BCA Expo 2023: Eco Success Story
BCA Expo 2023 took ICE BSD by storm, captivating attendees not only with an array of dream cars and homes at special interest rates but also with an unexpected twist—Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs). These colossal blue machines, provided by Bakti BCA in partnership with Plasticpay, stole the spotlight at the event, held over three exciting days at ICE BSD.
The enthusiasm of BCA Expo 2023 attendees was palpable, evident in the serpentine queues at the plastic waste exchange area. In less than 72 hours, the cumulative plastic bottle count at BCA Expo 2023 had soared past 3,500 bottles, weighing in at over 65 kilograms. As the event continued through Sunday evening, the tally of plastic bottles collected in the RVMs was expected to keep rising.
Plasticpay, a digital platform-driven social initiative, motivates people to join forces in collecting plastic waste, which is then repurposed into eco-friendly fibers for environmentally conscious products. Event visitors could exchange the collected plastic bottles for Plasticpay Points, convertible into Indonesian Rupiah funds for various purposes.

Haryn, EVP of Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility at BCA, affirmed their commitment to environmental preservation, saying, "In addition to offering attractive promotions at BCA Expo 2023, BCA partnered with Plasticpay to collect and recycle plastic waste from visitors. BCA Expo 2023 marked another chapter in the ongoing collaboration between Bakti BCA and Plasticpay. Their prior joint efforts at the Gebyar BCA Merah Putih event on August 27, 2023, underscored BCA's steadfast dedication to environmental preservation in all their initiatives.
Hera emphasized, "The collaboration is expected to reduce plastic waste while promoting the concept of a circular economy. We want to educate the public, especially BCA Expo 2023 visitors, about the economic value of environmental preservation."
