Last week, for two consecutive days, Artemis Indonesia had the opportunity to assist PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) through the BCA Learning Service in presenting the Indonesia Knowledge Forum (IKF) XII 2023. This event served as a platform for sharing insights, inspiring, and raising awareness about sustainability values in the effort to foster long-term economic recovery and stability. Under the theme "Eco-Creation: Empower Sustainability through Partnerships and Digitalization," BCA's IKF event took place over two days on October 10-11, 2023, at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Pacific Place, Jakarta.
In the opening ceremony of IKF XII 2023, BCA's President Director, Jahja Setiaatmadja, emphasized, "BCA believes in the importance of comprehensive understanding when facing the challenges of creating a sustainable economy. Through IKF XII 2023, we are committed to exploring cross-sector collaboration potential and technology-based digital innovation to produce environmentally friendly solutions for sustainable economic development through an ecological approach."
Simultaneously, Rachmat Kaimuddin, Deputy for Infrastructure and Transportation Coordination at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment of Indonesia, stressed the significance of cross-sector cooperation and partnerships to drive sustainable economic growth, aligning with national goals like Indonesia Emas 2045 and Net-Zero Emissions by 2060.
Indonesia faces challenges from global economic dynamics and climate change. BCA, through IKF XII 2023, is dedicated to contributing to a sustainable economy that positively impacts environmental preservation.
Over 40 influential speakers participated, including government representatives, economists, and cultural figures. They aimed to inspire collaboration between the government, institutions, and businesses to promote investments in sustainable sectors while providing solutions that enhance economic growth and environmental preservation.
BCA's commitment to sustainability is evident, with significant investments in green financing, showing a 4.9% YoY increase, totaling IDR 76 trillion in the first quarter of 2023. This includes loans for sustainable natural resources, land use, transportation, and renewable energy. BCA also provided loans of IDR 327 billion to support electric vehicles.
The event featured 42 experts in fields like economics, sustainability, technology, and culture. It met the expectations of over 1,500 participants eager to gain insights into these areas.
