The air quality in Jakarta and its surrounding areas has become a growing concern for the local population. The Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry has highlighted that the transportation sector, especially fossil fuel-powered vehicles, is one of the major contributors to air pollution in Jakarta. Thus, the most significant opportunity to improve air quality begins with the transportation sector.

Recognizing the challenges in the automotive industry to introduce environmentally friendly initiatives, Artemis, the Public Relations consultant for Planet Ban, invited media representatives to their office in Depok to introduce the #RasaMesinBaru service for motorcycle riders across Indonesia. This initiative aims to reduce exhaust gas emissions from motorcycles.

Based on previous research conducted by Planet Ban's internal team among motorcycle taxi drivers, the #RasaMesinBaru service has proven to reduce HC emissions by an average of 67% and CO emissions by 73%. Furthermore, based on the same research, the average mileage of motorcycles (km/liter) also increased by 16%. With over 1,000 stores nationwide, Planet Ban can extend its service to more motorcycle users in Indonesia, contributing to reduced emissions across various regions.

Wisnu Satriya, Chief Innovation Officer of Planet Ban, stated, "Motorcycles that receive regular maintenance with X-Ten oil at Planet Ban have demonstrated lower exhaust gas emissions and improved fuel efficiency. Planet Ban invites motorcycle riders to refresh their vehicles through the #RasaMesinBaru service to keep their motorcycles in prime condition, thereby reducing exhaust emissions and pollution levels."

Efforts to reduce vehicle emissions are part of Planet Ban's implementation of the 3MAT principle (Enjoyable Riding, Cost-Efficiency, and Save the Planet) as part of their commitment to sustainable business practices. Planet Ban has also undertaken a series of initiatives to embrace the green business era, emphasizing safety and environmental preservation. These initiatives include managing used oil and motorcycle tire waste along with their plastic packaging, using environmentally friendly materials for motorcycle spare parts, and developing services to support the electric vehicle ecosystem.

Deden Hendra Shakti, Chief Operating Officer of Planet Ban, added, "As a player in the automotive industry that prioritizes sustainability, Planet Ban acknowledges the increasing importance of creating various environmentally friendly initiatives. We have devised a range of solutions, both operationally, such as selling tires without plastic packaging, and through third-party collaborations, such as recycling waste materials into wave-breaking devices in partnership with CarbonEthics, to usher in a greener business era."

Through these sustainability-driven initiatives, Planet Ban is shaping the future of the transportation sector, not only making it more efficient but also contributing to cleaner air and a healthier society.
