During the discussion, it was highlighted that digital identity technology is currently and will continue to be a vital requirement for digital services in creating a fast and secure ecosystem.

Digital identity technology is a key driver of company growth in Indonesia. Last Wednesday (May 24th), Artemis Indonesia as Strategic Communication consultant of Vida - a Leading Digital Identity Technology company has the privilege to support the launch of a research collaboration between VIDA and Katadata Insight Center titled "Digital Identity: Accelerating Customer Acquisition."

The study reveals that 88% of Indonesian companies feel the need to adopt digital identity technology to boost their businesses. However, challenges such as inadequate infrastructure and low digital literacy hinder the adoption of digital identity in companies. This is unfortunate, as digital identity technology plays a vital role in establishing consumer trust amidst digital transformation challenges.

As an Electronic Certification Authority (PSrE) affiliated with the Ministry of Communication and Informatics of Indonesia, VIDA strives to promote the adoption of secure and user-friendly digital identity technology. The research aims to assist businesses in understanding and strategizing the integration of digital identity technology, considering the potential risks of cybercrime such as identity fraud and theft.

Digital identity serves as a fundamental credential in the digital ecosystem, providing secure and efficient online transactions. Its implementation has shown positive impacts on Indonesian companies, including improved internal processes and service speed, increased scalability and user acquisition, boosted sales, enhanced security, and empowerment of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (UMKM).

The Ministry of Communication and Informatics highlights the importance of digital identity in ensuring legal certainty and security in electronic transactions, as traditional face-to-face interactions are no longer efficient. Certification Authorities, like VIDA, play a crucial role in providing secure credentials and establishing digital trust.

The research findings indicate that 88% of companies plan to continue using digital identity technology in the future. This presents significant business opportunities for digital identity service providers, including VIDA, to cater to a wide range of businesses, from UMKMs to large enterprises. The success story of Singpass in Singapore, where legal digital identity facilitates online transactions, serves as an inspiration for Indonesia's government to continue supporting and promoting the adoption of digital identity technology for integrated and swift digital services.

In conclusion, the research study "Digital Identity: Accelerating Customer Acquisition," conducted by VIDA and Katadata Insight Center, highlights the critical role of digital identity technology in Indonesian business growth. It emphasizes the need for companies to embrace this technology, overcome challenges, and leverage its positive impacts on speed, scalability, security, and social aspects of digital services provided by both public and private entities.
